Our goal is to support the greater Spicewood, Texas, community through fundraising and work projects. We encourage you to consider joining our chapter and contributing your time, talents, and resources in this important effort. We meet once a month in the evening of the first Thursday .  With the closing of Ilsa's Kitchen, we are looking for a new home for our meetings.  This month we will be at Angel's Ice House.
If you are interested in learning more about us, please contact any of our current board members. Even if you can not commit to joining the chapter right now, please feel free to join our online network and come out to support our community events.

The Spicewood Buzzard Bump is an annual springtime festival held in the Spicewood, TX, area near beautiful Lake Travis. Spicewood is located about 35 miles North West of Austin on Hwy 71 between the towns of Bee Cave and Marble Falls.

"The Bump" is organized and hosted by the Spicewood Lions Club as their yearly signature fundraising event. Designed to be fun for all ages, "The Bump" features a full day of live music, live action wild west show, merchandise booths, food vendors, a Bird Cookoff (any kind of fowl), motorcycle/car/truck exhibits, washer pitching tourney and more!

Spicewood Buzzard Bump is a BYOB event. Bring your own beer!

Important Details:

  • Date/Time - Saturday May 19, 2012. Gates open at 10am and close at 7pm.
  • Location - Adjacent to the Spicewood Volunteer Fire Department: 9751 E. Hwy 71, Spicewood, TX 78669.
  • Entry Donation - $3 per person or three (3) canned goods.
  • Due to Burnet Co. regulations on the sale of alcohol, the event is "BYOB" and ice chests will be allowed.
  • Folding chairs and blankets are permitted. "Rest Your Buns" sponsor tables and seating will also be available for use.
  • The event is "dog friendly" so feel free to bring your friendly furry family members - leashes required.
  • Entry forms for all competitions can be found here.
  • The Bird Cookoff is open to any type of (non-protected) fowl cooked in any style. Team registration form is here.
  • Washer Tournament entry form is here.
  • Live Music Lineup: Larry Joe Taylor Band, Marissa Martinez, Tessy Lou & The Shotgun Stars, Spicewood Elementary Choir, and BB, Forlini, Grimes, Hawk Band.
  • Vendor access to grounds begins at 7:30am. Car/Motorcycles should be set by 9:30am.
  • Car/Motorcycle judging will be begin at 1pm. Awards and photos at around 2:30pm.
  • Neither the community of Spicewood, the SVFD, Dewey Hollingsworth, LCI, or Burnet County will be liable for the loss or damage of property from any cause, nor will they be responsible for accidents on the grounds, adjacent roads or highways.

As a Spicewood Lions Club fundraiser, 100% of the net funds raised by the Buzzard Bump will be donated to charitable causes supported by the Spicewood Lions Club. All Lions Clubs self-fund any administrative costs associated with their operation and so guarantee that 100% of all donations and net proceeds from events can be given away to charitable causes.
